“The force is strong with these two....”
The Corner House Bed & Breakfast | Rockport, IN | The fourth day in May of 2019
It’s the week before your wedding. You can’t go a day without looking at the forecast as expected of any couple getting ready to celebrate their special day. Your stomach drops as you see 100% chance of rain on the day you have been planning for months. “Rain, rain, go away. Come again some other day,” may be your first reaction. How do we respond as your videographers?! “Rain, rain, feel free to stay. We’ll turn your drops into a video film of Hip Hip Hooray!” A full day of rain was the scenario for Carson + Tyler’s wedding day. However, we chose to embrace the drips and drops to create a timeless film of this couple who had the greatest attitudes, rain or shine. We could not be more elated with the final product of their wedding day filled with the hum of the rain, elegance of the drips against the window panes, and divine love portrayed between Carson + Tyler.
When we met with Carson + Tyler for the first time, we knew right off the bat that they meant business when it came to every single detail of their wedding. Their venue choice of Corner House B&B, LLC and Event Barns was the perfect location to commend such a memorable day! They brought their vision together with a palette of burgundy, blush, and gold incorporated into the decor, bouquets, and so much more. Whoops! We forgot to mention a little detail...they got married on Star Wars day! Naturally and exquisitely, Carson + Tyler integrated bits and pieces of the Star Wars saga into their wedding embellishments, but we’ll get to that in a moment. Carson’s beauty was exposed with her bridal delicacy but, most importantly, with her smile and charming personality! There was never a moment when she wasn’t smiling or giggling. She was adorned with a stunning cap sleeve Mori Lee (Julietta collection), ivory, rose gown featured with extraordinary applique, embroidery, crystals, and beading. Her opal gold mix Bel Aire headpiece and single tier english tulle veil with pearl edging complimented her loose half up, half down hairstyle beautifully. Her “something Star Wars” included a Princess Leia lego perfectly placed in her lovely bouquet. As she strapped on her gold, chunky heels, this bride’s face said it all: She was ready to become a wife!
Tyler’s warm heart and silly charm made him such a darling groom! His dashing attire included a burgundy button up, gray dress pants, cognac, two toned brown leather shoes to match his suspenders, and floral accents combined in his cufflinks, tie, and socks of course! His “something Star Wars” was a Han Solo lego situated in his boutonniere. However, the most handsome aspect of Tyler was his excitement for becoming Carson’s husband. As stated in his letter to Carson, “When I think about the fact that later today, I get to marry my wife, I can’t help but smile.” Ugghhh, how sweet is he?!
One of our favorite parts of capturing a wedding day through video is the separate interviews of the bride and groom. The inflections in their voices as they choke up, the sweet tears of reading their admiration-infused words to each other, and the raw responses we get to the few, simple questions we ask each time. We love it ALL! With that being said, Carson and Tyler did not disappoint us as they tenderly read their letters to each other. Carson’s reaction included sweet tears and sniffles of love while reading Tyler’s sentimental letter to her. I mean, how could she not tear up when his letter included this?! “Carson, you have brought so much joy to my life. I can only hope I can do the same for you. I look forward to growing old with you. The whole shebang. Love, Tyler (AKA, Clyde)” Tyler also had a memorable reaction as he held back the tears while reading Carson’s letter to him. A smile never left his face as he read, “You’re such an amazing man, and I’m so lucky to spend the rest of our lives together. #blessed. I can’t wait to see you at the altar. Love, Cletus” As the bride and groom wiped tears from their eyes, the moment they had been waiting forever for was finally here...it was time to become Mr. + Mrs. Erwin!
Having the ceremony under a white tent may have not been Carson +Tyler’s first choice, but it turned out to be exquisite!! The lush greenery brought such gorgeous vibrance to the rainproof location, and the space was filled with such delicacies. Pearls, lace, and chandeliers! Oh my! There was no way the rain was going to stifle the elegance and beauty of the decor. As Carson made her way down the aisle to the Star Wars theme song (such a great, unique idea!), all eyes were on her bridal glamor. After a touching hand washing ceremony and exchange of rings and vows, their marriage was sealed with the declaration of a kiss!
The rest of the evening included all the smooches, dress twirls, snuggles, and endless newlywed moments! As we all gathered under the tent for the first dances, and other groovy moves, we could not help but take a few, purposeful moments to focus in on the bride and groom. It never gets old to stand by and watch the just married couple dance and giggle as if no one else was in the room.
“May the 4th be with you.”
