Sami + Danny | A Darling Wedding Filled With a "Hole" Lot of Love

Updated: Feb 19, 2021

The Fourteenth Day of September, 2019 | Resurgence Church | Evansville, Indiana

We absolutely love making connections and new friendships through the wedding world! From the very beginning, Sami + Danny felt like best buds we had known forever with their bubbly attitudes and endless giggles. Fun fact! We met them while doing photography for Sami’s sister’s wedding and fell in love with their hearts, which made it a hands down YES when they asked if we would do photography for their wedding! After a wonderful Facetime date with Sami + Danny (being that they live in Arizona and were planning a wedding to be in Evansville), we were all excitedly awaiting the big day!

As we arrived at Resurgence Church, Sami was all sorts of giddy as she was getting her makeup done by her aunt. How sweet is that! We grabbed all of the essential accent pieces for the day and began clicking our cameras away! Her and Danny’s choice of crimson, navy, and white with wood highlights was a stunning blend to detail their momentous day! While I drooled over her navy, strappy pumps, Bryson was infatuated with Danny’s wooden watch. After we finished ooing and ahhing, we moved on to capturing the sentimental dress shots in her home church! Sami’s gorgeous gown of choice, designed by Maggie Sottero, was a jaw dropper! It’s french alencon lace fit and flare with a soft sweetheart neckline and sweep train was stunning and beautifully paired with a pearl and rhinestone sash set on a dear teal satin ribbon. Just marvelous!

Sami’s first look moments did not only include her mother but also her sister and one other special person...her future nephew! We adored being behind our cameras, sneaking all of the sweet giggles, happy tears, and hugs between them.  After grabbing a few shots of Sami’s bridal debut, it was time to tie the knot!

The ceremony had such an elegant touch of decor that included greenery lining the lace runner, a hint of burlap, and a charming, wooden unity sign that read: “A cord of three strands is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12”. What a wonderful bible verse for Sami + Danny to integrate into the day where they became one through the love of Christ!  After Bryson and I capture our necessity shots for the ceremony, we always love to take a moment and watch the bride and groom’s looks of excitement and sincerity toward each other. Sami + Danny’s look of sincerity was heartwarming and a little tear-jerking as well! The ceremony included wonderful memoirs of Danny + Sami and a whole lot of laughs! And just like that, the three strands became one cord!

With a small bridal party of a total of four people, we were able to have a little adventure in downtown Evansville after the ceremony! Our variety of city backdrops were absolutely on point with the marble walls, hint of greenery, and lovely, historic buildings. Not only did we grab some splendid shots, but we all took a break from the wedding hustle and bustle at the AMAZING Parlor Doughnuts! Being that doughnuts are mine and Bryson’s love language, we were happy to tag along and take a few newlywed portraits!

Sami + Danny’s rustic style turned into a dream for their reception! Their love for wooden highlights made the perfect pallet backdrop with hanging lights for the cake. Speaking of cake, it was gorgeous beyond measure! Its three tiers were decorated with rose swirls, burlap ribbon, and a wood plank as a base.  After the cake was cut, it was time for some dancing! Sami + Danny’s crowd was comical to capture, and we (meaning Jenna) were able to get on the dance floor for one of our favorites...Loveshack! We were sad to see the night end, but we were even more excited for the marriage that came as a result of the gorgeous day. Congrats to Sami + Danny!
